The Welcome Table was started in 2001, initially serving meals once every month. In January of 2002 the program started serving meals every Monday night, including most holidays. The primary mission of the Vermillion Welcome Table is to provide an inviting place where everyone can come together to share food, fellowship, service, and a sense of community. It accomplishes this mission by serving a warm, nutritious meal in a safe environment on a weekly basis. The Welcome Table has now started two more programs to help solve the food insecurity issue in Vermillion. Tanger Takeout and Weekend Backpack Program are now fully functioning programs that have become very successful!
